Our comprehensive recycling programme ensures you can access a variety of free and responsible pathways for recycling your empty consumables and old print hardware. Operating since 2008 with the support of certified e-waste specialists, Recycling Group, Brother has made recycling simple and easy.
Recycling your old products helps to close the loop, giving new life to old materials. Together, we can support a greener tomorrow, one responsible choice at a time.
Recycling your empty Brother ink, toner and drum cartridges reduces the amount of waste in landfill and enables these materials to be repurposed into new products. With support from Recycling Group, recycling consumables has never been easier.

If you're a Managed Print Services customer, you'll be supplied with a recycling box when you start a new contract. Recycling is at no additional cost. Each time a box is returned to Recycling Group, they'll send you out a new one.
Printer Pick Up is a print industry first in Aotearoa New Zealand that makes it easier than ever to recycle an old printer.
When you buy a new Brother printer, we’ll pick up your old one and recycle it for you – regardless of the brand. We’ll also take away the packaging from your new printer.
Alternatively, you can drop your old printer off at any of our nationwide drop-off points to be recycled.
If you're a new Managed Print Services customer, you can choose to have your old print hardware removed and recycled for free when you start a new contract.

Removing polystyrene (EPS) and polyethylene (EPE) packaging from our products is an environmentally responsible step that reduces non-recyclable waste and promotes sustainable packaging alternatives, including cardboard and pulp. EPS/EPE packaging will continue to be phased out.
Customers and partners are encouraged to keep an eye out for EPE/EPS-free packaging on Brother products that feature the special badge.

Since 1999, the Brother Group has been actively engaged in environmental activities rooted in the concept of the '5Rs'. These principles are instrumental in the Brother Group's commitment to fostering a sustainable material-cycle society.
RoHS is the 'Restriction of the use of certain Hazardous Substances' in electrical and electronic equipment. We prohibit the sale of new electrical and electronic equipment that exceeds agreed-upon levels of lead, cadmium, mercury, hexavalent chromium, polybrominated biphenyl (PBB) and polybrominated diphenyl ether (PBDE) flame retardants. An Explanation of RoHS and lists of restricted substances will provide you with more information.

Recycling Group (formerly Croxley Recycling) is Brother's trusted e-waste recycling partner in New Zealand. They hold ISO 9001 and 14001 certification, setting the standard in e-waste recycling and providing a trusted and transparent service. Having a partner with the expertise to collect, handle and recycle e-waste appropriately is vitally important to us.
We partner with Recycling Group to recycle cardboard, plastic, metal, glass, toner, and other components. Based on all Brother materials collected by Recycling Group, approximately 98% by weight is recycled into various new pathways1.
As part of circular economy initiatives, Brother is working to collect and recycle Brother products such as used cartridges and machines. Customer cooperation is essential for this activity. We are making it easy for all Brother customers.
